What’s Up with Guidewire? Accounting Software Maker Up 7% in Late Trading

Shares of Guidewire Software (GWRE), the maker of software for the property and casualty insurance market, are up $2.17, or 6.6%, at $34.87 in late trading, on no apparent news.

The stock, which went public on January 25th, was initiated by its underwriters earlier this month, with three Buy ratings and two Hold ratings, and subsequently received a Neutral recommendation from Brigantine Advisors’s Barbara Coffey on March 14th.

The company’s only financial report to date was its fiscal Q2 report on March 13th, when it handily outperformed expectations.

This evening’s trade could be just a recovery from the regular session, when Guidewire shares fell $2.30, almost 7%, to $32.70.
