Goldman: Talk of $100M Bonus “Nonsense”

Goldman Sachs (GS) shot back at the Times of London this morning about its story citing anonymous sources as saying CEO Lloyd Blankfein might get a $100 million bonus. The story is “speculative nonsense,” according to an email from a Goldman spokesperson discussed by Dow Jones Newswires reporter John Spence. “Everything Goldman Sachs has said and done in terms of compensation this year gives the lie to The Times story,” Spence quotes the letter as saying.

Goldman shares today are up $4.07, or 3%, at $152.79.
