Verizon Wireless (VZ, VOD) CEO Lowell McAdam basically dodged the question today when asked about the prospects for an early 2011 launch for a CDMA version of the Apple (AAPL) iPhone. As noted earlier, the Wall Street Journal today said that production of a CDMA phone will start later this year, with the phone to hit the market early next year.
As the blog Electronista reports, McAdam said it would be up to Apple to make that kind of announcement.
“Apple is really the one that has to make that kind of announcement,” McAdam reportedly said. “At some point our business interests are going to align… I fully expect it, but I don’t have anything to say [at the moment].”
