Shares of Vodafone (VOD) are up $1.14 cents, or 4.5% at $26.51, after Bloomberg’s Jeffrey McCracken, David Welch and Jonathan Browning reported a short while ago that partner Verizon Communications (VZ) has been discussing with the European giant how to resolve Vodafone’s 45% stake in the U.S. carrier’s wireless division, perhaps via a full merger, citing multiple unnamed sources.
The authors write that there are no formal talks underway at the moment, and “deliberations [] haven’t’ progressed to substantial negotiations.”
Verizon stock is up 39 cents, or 0.8%, at $47.50.
