You Said It: Fracking and Pollution

We asked readers on Facebook whether they would prefer less pollution or having a larger U.S. energy supply in response to a story about the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency linking fracking with water pollution.

Below you'll find a sampling of readers' responses to this question on TheStreet's Facebook page: What do you think is more important -- avoiding pollution or increasing the domestic energy supply?John Rickemon: "Increasing pollution and avoiding our domestic energy supply." -RepublicansStephen Nuchia: "Water is life."Financial Straight Talk: "How about avoiding polluting and finding alternative energy sources."David Houston: I do not see any conflict between the two. I know of no reason we cannot do both. But we must break our addiction to oil and coal. With regard to the specific practice addressed in the article of Fracking, any water pollution it causes should be able to be cleaned up, and the costs of doing so treated as a cost of doing business with that method."Empire Stateofmind: "Increasing the energy supply. Simply because increasing the supply would give us the capital to manage the pollution."Ronald Kooch: "Increase energy supply with clean energy."-- >To submit a news tip, send an email to: tips@thestreet.com.>To follow the writer on Twitter, go to Alexandra Zendrian. >To order reprints of this article, click here: Reprints
