Qualcomm’s FLO TV Getting A Few Improvements

Qualcomm (QCOM)-owned FLO TV, the mobile television service, is getting some improvements, the company announced today. The service, which received a lukewarm review from Barron’s last month, is beginning to sound more like your standard cable offering, with pay-per-view and DVR options. But in this case, the revised pay model offers a way to avoid the recurring $15 monthly service charge that had accompanied the service. Meanwhile, the DVR time-shift feature will allow users to watch programs even if they’re outside of the FLO TV coverage area.

In today’s session, shares of Qualcomm are down 22 cents, or 0.5%, to $42.01.
